Insider information

• Information about a company's activities that has not been disclosed to the general public. It is illegal for anyone with access to such information to make trades based on it.

• Relevant information about a company that has not yet been made public. It is illegal for holders of this information to make trades based on it, however received.

• Is important knowledge about a company's affairs which has not been made public. It is illegal to trade on such information in a number of countries including the United States. Often this information by nature is only viewed by senior officials or those working closely with executives.
